Welcome to “The Mommy Project”
I don’t know about you, but I happen to think the current economy sucks. The good news is that in every economic downturn there is always a chance to change things. In fact, most of the great fortunes made by the so-called “self-made millionaires” over the past 200 years have been made during and in the immediate aftermath of a major economic downturn. So, instead of getting upset, it’s time to get inspired!
What Is “The Mommy Project”?
“The Mommy Project” is a living look at ways that I will be working on to support my family without going “outside of the home” to get a “real job”. You see, I’ve had real jobs. I’m a Certified Pediatric Nurse and I have worked in many areas of pediatric care: emergency/trauma, burn, ICU, postpartum and NICU. Even for nurses, though, this is a tough economy. I can get work… if I’m willing to leave my husband and children for 3-5 months at a time. That is a sacrifice I’m simply not willing to make again (trust me, it was no fun the last time!)
